WA: Esmeralda to raise $2 mln for further Romanian exploration

PERTH, Feb 29 AAP - Shareholders in Australian gold miner Esmeralda Exploration voted
today to raise $2 million for further exploration at the Romanian mine being blamed for
a cyanide spill that has polluted European rivers.

The money would be raised through the issue of five million convertible notes worth
40 cents, and would go towards exploration at the Baia Mare site, a company spokesman
said.
