SA: News on Mitsubishi expected today

ADELAIDE, Feb 26 AAP - The long-term future of Australian car maker Mitsubishi could
be revealed today with a joint announcement on future plans for the Japanese-based brand
in Tokyo and Germany.
The giant DaimlerChrysler automotive group, which now controls Mitsubishi in Japan,
was due to reveal its long-term business strategy late this afternoon.
Speculation last week suggested it would include worldwide job cuts at Mitsubishi of
between 8,000 and 9,600 workers.
